Joshua Hurt is Leo-born and raised in Sugar Land, a small suburban town outside of Houston. At a young age, Hurt kept a sketch book rendering imaginary characters, giving them personal stories. Following his attendance in college art courses while in high school, he went to the University of Texas in San Antonio to focus on experimental film, citing Kenneth Anger, Kara Walker, and Bruce Nauman as his inspirations. After earning his BFA, Hurt moved to New York where he began working in film as an assistant costume designer and stylist. He now works as a costume designer across the country.
