Tim holds a neuroscience degree from Columbia University, having been an NIH National Research Service Award Fellow and doctoral candidate. He uses electrophysiological and modeling techniques to study the neural computations underlying sensory predictions in cerebellum-like structures. He co-directed NeuWrite, a collaborative writing group the brings together scientists and writers.
Having studied writing and languages at Northwestern University, he is as well a freelance journalist, and an author of a book about his father, "The Flying Doctor, The Life of William Requarth."
He is additionally an accomplished classical, ragtime and bluegrass musician.
